Hampton House is a renovated two-storey beach house at Shoal Point, with its own fenced pool and the beach just across the road. Three bedrooms + flexible retreat spaces and three bathrooms mean a family or a group can spread out without queueing for the shower.

Downstairs, the dining room and lounge open straight onto the pool deck, and the outdoor table sits in the shade of the covered deck. There is a stone-island kitchen with an induction cooktop, a full laundry, air conditioning, a media room, and a second living room for quiet afternoons.

Upstairs, the main bedroom has a walk-in robe and opens onto its own covered balcony.

At low tide the sand flats stretch out for kilometres, with Green Island offshore. Mackay city is under half an hour by car, and Cape Hillsborough is an easy day trip.

The kitchen has a long stone island, an induction cooktop, a wall oven, a full-height fridge and a dishwasher.

There is a Nespresso coffee machine for the mornings, and the island looks straight through to the dining room and the pool doors.

The pool

The house has its own fenced, in-ground pool, with a covered deck at one end and lawn to spread out on.

The dining room and lounge open straight onto it. Mornings start with a swim. Lunch is at the outdoor table in the shade of the covered deck, looking down the water, and there is always time for one more dip before dinner.

  • Guests: Up to 8, babies included. Only the guests on the booking may stay
  • Rules: No parties or events, no smoking or vaping inside, no pets, and please keep noise down between 10pm and 7am

Safety and property

  • Pool: Fenced
  • Security: A pre-authorisation of AUD $500 is held on your card 1 day before arrival and released 3 days after departure.
  • Location: Exact address provided after booking

Payment and cancellation

  • Deposit: A 50% deposit is paid when you book, and the balance is due 7 days before arrival.
  • Cancellation: If you cancel 7 or more days before arrival, 50% of what you have paid is refunded. If you cancel within 7 days of arrival, there is no refund.
